The 8 study areas offered here provide opportunities for you to meet the UK Professional Standards Framework. You need to engage with all the dimensions of the Framework in order to become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Some of the area headings are self-explanatory. Design and Planning of Learning Activities clearly meets Activity A1 with the same title. However, the same study area also engages you in Activity A5 - Engage in continuing professional development in subjects, disciplines and their pedagogy, incorporating research, scholarship and the evaluation of professional practices.
This study area also offers opportunities for you to evidence your knowledge and understanding listed in Core Knowledge K1; K2; K3; K4 and K5.
The activities within this area could also offer you opportunities to demonstrate certain Professional Values from the 4 listed within the Framework.
The onus is on YOU to provide evidence of your understanding and engagement with the various Areas of Activity, Core Knowledge and Professional Values within the Framework.
